He is a lawyer with a Master’s Degree in Politics and International Petroleum Commerce. He began his life in the insurance world in 1999, as Adjuster and Legal Consultant of an important International Adjuster, specializing in the analysis, solution and negotiation of claims and losses of energy, hydrocarbons and liability, of high amount and complexity, for Latin America and the Caribbean, rendering management reports to highly qualified reinsurance markets.
In his business career, he has held senior executive positions in insurance brokers of international stature, managing and adapting the insurance programs of corporate clients. He has participated in the creation of an assistance company that provides services to travelers all over the world, with a demanding standard of quality. He has provided advice on insurance and surety programs in Latin America to leading transnationals.
He is an attorney with a Master’s Degree in Commercial Law, with an academic background in Finance, Business and Reinsurance. He began his life in the insurance sector in 1997, joining the Legal Department of an insurance company, acquiring the position of Corporate Legal Vice President of that insurer and of other regulated business units of the financial group to which it belonged.
Subsequently, he has been legal and judicial representative of important insurers, reinsurers, insurance and reinsurance brokers, in technical underwriting incidents and indemnity claims in all lines of business. He was Associate Surety Underwriter for a prestigious reinsurer rated A (Excellent) AM Best. He has acted as advisor in the structuring of international fiduciary guarantee operations.
He was born in Philadelphia, in December 1950. He moved to Maracaibo, Venezuela in 1954 when his parents, both physicians, completed their specializations. In 1971, he received a bachelor´s degree in economics from Columbia University, New York City.
After one year of graduate study in Inter-American affairs, he returned to Venezuela in 1972 to work in Industrias Jatu, S.A., makers of Arrow shirts, as Sales Chief and Assistant to the Vice President of Merchandising.
Six years later in 1978, he began his career in insurance with Corredores Internacionales Asociados, C.A. (Corina). In 1981 he served as Assistant Vice President of Corina´s sister company, Inovin, a reinsurance brokerage firm. From 1982 till April 1984 he served as Manager of Consejo, C.A.´s Maracaibo branch. On May
1,1984 he returned to Corina as Executive Vice President. One year later became President, serving till he closed the company in 2024. For 67 years Corina handled every type of insurance specializing in the oil patch and Lake Maracaibo.
Presently he is President of the Board of the Centro Venezolano Americano del Zulia (CEVAZ), where he has served in different board positions 29 of the last 39 years.
Since 1998 he has served on the Escuela Bella Vista Board. He has been a member of VenAmCham since 1993 and twice chaired the Zulia Committee. From September 1996 until September 2015 he was U.S. Consular Agent in Maracaibo. During this period, he
was twice President of the Consular Corps and is now an honorary member.
After graduating the University of Miami he went to work as an agent for John Hancock Insurance Company. After spending two years at John Hancock Insurance Company, Mr. Feldman opened his first Property & Casualty Insurance Agency and continued to operate in the agency field. As few examples of program placements during that period of time, Mr. Feldman organized and created the insurance placement for the Metroplitan Parking Association of New York. Mr. Feldman also created the program placement for the Best Western Hotel Chain.
In 2015, Mr. Feldman formed Global Marketing Specialist Inc., is an insurance consulting & marketing firm that is contracted by members of the insurance industry to put together and market insurance property & casualty programs. These engagements also include program placements for the surety bond market as well. These combines programs over the last 10 years have generated over $40,000,000 USD in premiums for its clients.
In 2026, Mr. Feldman has now joined Priority Re as a Marketing Director for program placements in the field of property & casualty, as well as surety bonds.
